"If you care about your balance between work and the rest of your life don't work here. No matter what you do they will want more."
What do you like about working at Kimley-Horn Associates?
"There were some great people. The people are the only thing that made it tolerable."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Don't work here. They've laid off so many people in the last few years that you will never feel secure. Also, the people they didn't let go have been quitting like crazy. When you tell people you are quitting they express jealousy and ask if they can join you. A recent Facebook group for former employees got almost 100 members within hours of starting. Only one expressed any remorse about losing her job. Everyone else was happy to be out."
What don't you like about working at Kimley-Horn Associates?
"Almost everything in the end. The are awful to their IS people. Everyone is treated like a techno-slave. You get no respect and you never leave help desk. Also, if you try to think for yourself you will be put in your place. They insist that you do things their way. Also, they want you to work all the time. Even if you have nothing to do they want you to sit there for at least 45 hours per week. Actually, that is considered not enough time."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Learn to treat people with respect, you may also want to try more honesty and less greed. Try caring about people and stop treating professionals like they work at a sweatshop."
What do you like about working at Gibson Dunn?
"Great place to work, for I learned much more about technology at Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher."
What do you like about working at National Geographic Society?
"Pleasant, easygoing staff. The downtown location always featured animal exhibits and educational programs open to the public."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Be very focused on how you can have a win-win for yourself and the University."
