"Indianapolis Power & Light Company (ipl) is a regulated utility company and, as such, is burdened with regulatory requirements that make it difficult to complete work quickly or with any innovation. Because of its regulatory environment, the work force tends to approach all problems with a 1950s mentality, suspicious of anyone who wants to venture out of the box. To date, the cultural change the parent company (AES) was to bring to IPL has not come to pass."

"I have moved up from Assistant to Engineer Junior to Senior Engineer. Pay and benefits are ok and I work with very good people.The current regulatory environment doesn't encourage me to continue working in a utility environment."
