"I worked at Indiana Virtual School for five months. Four months into my employment, state auditors found the school had fraudulently increase the enrollment of the school to increase the state funding they received. Reports were the school had receive over $40 million in additional state funding they should not have received. When this story hit the public, much uncertainty prevailed among staff including myself. Within a couple of weeks, it was apparent the school would close soon and much of the staff was let go. I was part of a skeleton crew that stayed on to help students moved to new schools...thinking we would still be compensated for our work. Five weeks into helping students move on, it was announced we would not be compensated."
