"As a new employee you were not given the benefit of doudt in situations regarding commission. Attitude was this was a customer of mine therefore I get the commission every time. It didn't matter that you actually spend time and helped the customer or not - very cut throat attitude between employees."
What do you like about working at Von Maur?
"Helping the customers, my attitude is that in any position you have, anyone who walks through your door is a customer."
What don't you like about working at Von Maur?
"Employees with more senority seem to be always right and were treated differently."

"Listen to employees comments - have two way conversation - open door policy, especially with new employees."

"The company needs to be more involved in self auditing and employee surveying or getting feedback more consistently to improve their overall structure and efficiencies."

"The company has a popular and recognizable brand name which sells itself. I like the camaraderie and diversity of the team and company. It's a fun and creative work environment."

"Preparation and planning is key to a successful interview. Before interviewing, read about the company and it's products and services. Know the contents of the job description and make sure you have the skills and experience they are seeking by showing examples of your strengths and accomplishments as it relates to the job requirements and responsibilities."
What don't you like about working at Disney-ABC Television ?
"My overall experience has been a great experience which allowed me to grow and learn about different divisions and how they do business. I've observed that there have been employees who have worked 10, 20 or even 30 years with the company who still stick to old values or ways of thinking which may prevent the company from moving forward as a dynamic or progressive company."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would suggest that HR or the leaders of the company take a look at their current talent pool and develop and enrich the top performers and high potential employees to retain them and keeping them engaged through training and developing achieavable stretch goals. Those that don't meet the performance expectations or standards of the company, I recommend coaching, mentoring or developing performance goals or improvement plans that would result in enhanced communication, improved performance and increased productivity."
