"As a scientific programmer I had been working at National Human Genome Center at HU for 6 years. It was formed around year 2000.This center is supported from grants and from the HU. It has a diversified leadership and stuff with mission for human genome research especially for Africans and African Americans around the world. As the leadership changed dramatically, the center is now in the basic level in development."

The situation was bad when I started. What don't you like about working at Howard University?

"I don't like the rudeness of other employees, I don't like the lack of team work, I don't like the fact that your boss does not stick up for you,I don't like the lack of support from doctors even when you are new to the hospital. I don't like the rudeness or tardiness from doctors, I don't like the unfair disciplinary actions taken by upper management."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would suggest weekly meetings, and even weekly training sessions to improve the employee relations as well as the patient relations."

"The students, or course! They are some of the brightest young Americans I have ever met!"

"Do not think that you will make a lot of money with this University! They pay under the average of Washington, DC's pay."

What don't you like about working at Howard University?

"The Administration at Howard University is old, to not say archaic!"

What suggestions do you have for management?

"My suggestion would be to change the entire management all together! There is NOTHING good in the Administration!"
