"I worked for Hope Global for just a few months before I realized I couldn't stay on. The atmosphere is very cliquish, and if you are not Portuguese, Catholic, or both, you will probably feel out of place. But the worst was the pervasive culture of homophobia. On an almost daily basis I was forced to listen to offhand bigoted remarks, slurs and jokes about gay people that made it nearly impossible for me to feel comfortable in the office."
