"Hoonuit is an education technology development firm that innovates products that transforms the learning experience for teachers and students. I started my Fall 2019 internship as a Data Science Intern with Hoonuit, and I have to say that the experience has been educational and amazing. As a Data Science Intern, I got hands-on experience on cutting edge technologies like Azure cloud storage, docker, Git, MS SSMS, and R using various statistical packages and leading algorithms that power the Hoonuit predictive analytics package. I got a chance to create a new data pipeline for the predictive process that uses Azure data lake as a source. I wrote further queries and various data transformations that would fetch the data for the analytics. The specialty of working at Hoonuit is the freedom to innovate, experiment, test, and come with the best possible solutions. Working at Hoonuit helped me strengthen on skills in thinking from a product point of view instead of a program that gives solutions. This opened doors to so many questions, like the feasibility for new features in futures, compatibility with the existing features. The satisfying part was that I could apply the knowledge and skills that I learned in my coursework on live and real problems. Business Analytics with R, Machine Learning with Python, Programming for Data Science, Predictive Analytics have been crucial in the introduction to the world of data science and analytics. Master’s in business Analytics program at UTD has been essential in developing my understanding of the field of analytics."
