"Great place to work if you are backend developer and don't mind working on older systems that constantly present unique problems."
"Overpromised the salary I would receive. Work is boring and draining. Little to no room for upward mobility."
"I've worked at HomeAdvisor since 2018 and think they are a great company to work for. They are the top in their industry and stay up to date with current technologies."
"Phenomenal company and culture, for the college grad or the new to sales candidate."
"I've worked at HomeAdvisor for 4.5 years. It has been a very positive experience and has been able to learn and grow my career. If your willing to put in the time you will be rewarded financially."
"Great initial opportunity for anyone out of college. Training is great, managers listen and address concern when possible and Company culture is great. they can give anyone starting their career the opportunity to establish a work ethic and the ability to implement solutions to unforeseen circumstances"
"I worked at HomeAdvisor for 2 years and although the position was lucrative at times, it was not a stable income. The selling style at this company is very much like that of a used car dealership."
"I've been a Project Advisor with HomeAdvisor since May of 2019. The company has a large number of things to learn and grow from, and they take care of providing tools for use not only with their company but knowing that their teams may take those skills elsewhere as well. HomeAdvisor is a fast-paced setting for learning great skills for a career."
"I've worked for HomeAdvisor for about 2 years now. Despite a brief period where the culture started declining, he culture is getting back to being great and the work is interesting. The work life balance is great but the salary is going to be less than wha you would expect when working for a large company focused on tech."
"Great company. Just be ready to cold call 150+ prospects a day."
"Good money. Grind hard. Worth it."
"Great company. Keep it up"
"I’ve worked for HomeAdvisor for just under a year. It’s a large company providing excellent data-driven leads to those in the home services industry. They have a strong following with repeat clients maintaining their relationships due to a consistent success record."
"HomeAdvisor started inside Microsoft. Great Management, Great Team. Partnering with Banks & Lending institutions went off great. Freddie & Fannie were willing to play as well. The Business team unfortunately killed this wonderful project."
What do you like about working at HomeAdvisor?
"Our GM was a fantastic Person. One in a Million. Our CTO was a fantastic Person one in a million. A Dream Team. The Team they put together was a dream team. Everyone were smart and heads down in building the best. We had no dearth of resources. We had a fantastic project and thus we were winning."
What don't you like about working at HomeAdvisor?
"Very little. None of us know about how Poorly the Business Team were performing and how out of depth they were."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"In retrospect - I would submit to the GM - a man I honor - that You did know that Business group were a barrel of rotten eggs. I honestly think that in weighing the larger interests of the phenomenal success your team were delivering you would have delivered greater value by creating an alternate business team, by sacking them, by calling them out, by escalating their performance to the VP .. anything at all but letting them run with what they did .. and run the effort to the ground. Its precisely like Google today - if they do not monetize on a very successful basis - they are just a foot note in history."
