"I was hired very early in March. When I was first hired I was told by the owner that she was planning on over hiring to see who was the "best fit" for the job. After about a month it was clear I was staying since no one else joined the staff. About two or three weeks later I randomly stopped getting hours due to it being "slow" in the back, meaning there were few dogs to take care of. Every time I tried to see when I would be put on the schedule I got the same "it's been slow" excuse, but was also told I was still a staff member. About a month went by of going back and forth trying to get hours and getting bs excuses in return and at this point I have lost a considerable amount of money since I was not making any. I finally told the owner that if they were not going to give me hours I was going to open my availability at my second job (which this business told me to limit, that way they could have me come in whenever they wanted me). After expressing this to the owner she then proceeds to tell me to just go ahead and do it, that in the month they were not communicating well or giving me hours, they were instead hiring new people, then tried to tell me she hired too many people recently and no longer needed me. The lack of communication is astounding and it is not a reliable job if you are looking for something permanent, besides a select few, no one lasts more than a couple months at best. Very poor organization and treatment of the workers."
