"Initially I was very excited to work for Helzberg. As an outsider looking in the company has a great reputation. It’s a Berkshire Hathaway company and at the time was a member of the American Gem Society. This image is not a reflection of how this company truly functions. From the very first day I was treated as if I had a learning disability or was not up to standards because I came from a competitor. Everything I said and did was completely micromanaged. I have several jewelry accreditation’s and was fully trained and very knowledgeable of the industry when Helzberg hired me. I had 10 prior years experience. I let the disrespect go because I assumed they wanted to train me their way, which I was open to, but the disrespect continued throughout my entire employment with Helzberg. In all I worked for this dreaded company for 4 years. The straw that made me leave was the appearance of an absolutely psychotic Assistant manager who, came to work high as a kite, smoked THC vapes in the back room, she was also on a pharmacy of prescription drugs that she misused. Due to her pharmaceutical intake her moods were irrational and she was unpredictable. She was a bully and I almost had a nervous breakdown because of her. She would use racial slurs and have inappropriate conversations with our male store manager. HR was notified which made the situation off the charts awful. She would scream at us, steal our sales, curse and it became unbearable. I quit without notice. Helzberg really needs to stop allowing this behavior."
"Great company! It’s been a pleasure working here."
"I work for this company about 3 years. Highly satisfied with the company in general."
