"I worked for Hawthorne High School for 2 years. Dedicated teachers and impressive academies were its strong points. Its weak points were almost no collaboration within the English Department. At this Title 1 school there were so many pressing concerns, yet for one entire semester when the English department did meet all that was discussed was grading policy--should assessments count for 20 or 40%. There was no cellphone policy enforced, and the incentives for the students only applied to the diligent students not those in need."
