"Harris County EMS is a hard place to work. On many occasions I have been asked to compromise my morals and ethics. I believe that one day they will really get in trouble. They provide very little compensation to hard working individuals and tend to celebrate those that are underhanded and put money to the bottom regardless of the sacrifice."

What do you like about working at Harris County Hospital District?

"I like the hours of employment and the potential that the organization has for growth. I also like the stability of the industry as it relates to my position."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"It really depends on your role within HCHD. I would say most importantly is that if you do not know much in the way of computer use then take the time and learn. It will help you overall and it really helps us."

What don't you like about working at Harris County Hospital District?

"Dealing with the end users is really my biggest gripe about the position I hold at HCHD."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would have the help desk staffed 24x7 and stop expecting the night crew operations team to field end user phone calls as well as perform data center functions"

"I think that I have an amazing boss that has taught me how to manage people better and how to have better self worth."

"Be prepared with some research, and also be able to pass a word/excel and typing test."

"There is no growth opportunities for me in this area, and my boss does not want to see me go and so I am stuck in a position that has no longer been of interest to me."

"Listen to your staff, they can really teach you a lot about your company and things that need to possibly improve."

"EVERYTHING! I was unfortunate enough to work for a company that valued the almighty dollar over quality of care. Employees were judged by the color of their skin and not on their abilities."

"Total overhaul ! Start valuing their employees for their abilities to serve the county instead of whether or not they are the appropriate skin tone."
