"Lack of strict formal procedures when it came to making sales/interacting with customers. I was allowed to do things my way as long as I was making sales and keeping customers happy."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Make it apparent that you're good at selling stuff. Just knowing how to operate a cash register isn't going to cut it. Must be good with people, so to speak."

What don't you like about working at General Nutrition Centers?

"Biggest down side was that the nature of the job simply required a different skill set than what I specialize in. My engineering/programming skills would go to waste if I continued to work there."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Management was very competent overall. If anything, I would suggest hiring more employees so there's less hassle when trying to cover all business hours of the store."
