Global Skyline Employee

"TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Don't get fooled for the positive reviews. They are aware of what they are doing and they post positive reviews to balance the real people experiences. I applied and the same day received an email for a first interview at 111 John Street, NYC. The first interview was brief and the interviewer (which is the CEO) just asked me the regular interview questions. I asked him about the specific duties of the role but he was just going around it. The interview took about 10 minutes. 3 hours later, I received a call for a second interview. They sent me an email inviting me to a full day at the same location. Once I arrived to the office, they introduced me to the person who was going to be with me all day and we started walking to the subway. Since the website and the job posting says they're ¨an events marketing company, creating and attending retail, exhibition, sports, music and cultural events across the city¨ I thought we were going to attend an event. IT TURNS OUT THAT THE JOB IS NOT MORE THAN STANDING ON THE STREETS GIVING FREE CELL PHONES TO PEOPLE AT THE MOST DANGEROUS AREA IN NYC. We (the 2 applicants) were supposedly ¨shadowing a manager¨ to understand how the day to day works. However, we were practically working 8 hours free in a very dangerous area dealing with disrespectful people and risking our lives all day (I am not over reacting, I was actually scared). At least the person we were shadowing was nice, the other girl did not even talk to me or answer my questions about the job and she was actually flirting with the customers to try to give more cellphones, since they have a commission for every one. I realized there are like 5 ¨marketing¨ companies doing exactly the same and they all sent me the same email inviting me to the full day (weird ha?). They all have terrible reviews online. Believe me, they are NOTHING but a scam. In fact, 2 of them were in the exact same location."
