"Communication is key; Even if you have the right tools without communication they are useless."

"I've worked for Gentiva Hospice, and for Odyssey Hospice before their merger, for over six years. I have found the company to be struggling with integrating technology into its workflows, and with continuing changes with Medicare and in the healthcare industry. The management tends to be reactionary to changes instead of proactive. Although understanding to the concerns of their employees, management does little to address them."

"A branch with poor leadership skills. No credit for going above and beyond. When concerns are brought up to management there is no feedback or resolution to the problem. These concerns are affecting patient care. Great group of team members."

"Love the patient interaction. Company pays fairly well compared to other area agencies."

"Consider another company. This one is only out for the almighty dollar and not for the well being of their employees."

"Incredibly micromanaged. Deceptive management. No room for clinicians to think for themselves or make their own decisions about patient care."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get to know and appreciate the work of your employees."

"I loved the work but, the managers are a joke. There is NO consistency in what we're supposed to do. The tension is so high in the office. The managers change their minds and how we're supposed to do things at LEAST twice a week.The pay averages out to be less than minimum wage, after charting 3-4 hours per night without any compensation for it (I'm an RN).If you read all these reviews it looks like management is a problem in every state. Obviously, they need some further education. Run Run!!!"

"I love working with the population that we do but the Branch Director is controlling, a micromanager and does not respect nurses. She has been told numerous times how poorly she runs the branch but tells each of us "this is the first time I've head this." The pay is horrible compared to other companies with more responsibilities. Stay away!"

"Love Hospice, good benefits, hospice division culture was great prior to the merger with Odyssey."

"I loved the freedom to make my own schedule each day. I loved the staff I worked for. I had a great supervisor. The Director was easy to work with."

"It was difficult to get the paperwork turned in each day as my clients and the office were often miles apart."

"The patients were wonderful and I love taking care of them. Staff members also great."

"The manager and I didn't see things eye-to-eye. She really only liked the people she had previously worked with at a clinic prior to opening this clinic"

"She should be fair and treat all staff with the same regard."
