What do you like about working at GE?

"Nothing, we were brought out by them and they tore the departments apart and within 4 years we no longer had a job and this was after working for almost 25 years"

What don't you like about working at GE?

"when they close the package deal sucked after almost 25 years I received 5 weeks pay, as with any company that is brought out they take away everything that you used to have."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Treat your employees like you would want to be treated"

"Don't!!! You'll regret it the rest of your life."

What don't you like about working at GE?

"The management. It is the worst on the planet. They lie, cheat, steal to further their own ends at the expense of loyal, hardworking people. They purport to be a family oriented business but in reality punish you for being a mother or father to your children."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I can only hope there is a place in Hell for them so they can receive the same treatment they enacted on the workers."

"Prepare for 4 hrs of interview by the engineering team."

"Low pay, Winter is horrible here in Syracuse. No co-ops or interns hired in past several years, work load."

"Allow hiring of Co-ops, interns. More training budget for engineers working on new product."

"Talk more on client interested areas in individuals experience rather than concentrating more individuals skills."

"monotonous repeatitive work, not informing about upstream and downstream equipment"

"Management shall protect a healthy environment where employees can express their views"

"Nice but not so stimulating, need more high paced work environment"

"Enjoy it, it is a nice place to work but wasn't fast paced enough for me"

"Not so challenging, big company, too little time spent on personal development"

"Be warmer, maybe be more engage in my work, probably reassign when I wasn't doing something she was connected to."

"The people are always willing to help you. The work is challenging. My caterer path can span almost any imaginable business."

"Tell what you have done, what the benefits are, and what you learned. Be honest about what you want and what your development needs are."

"The organization is so large that it's difficult fire me to know what the rest of the company is doing"

"I would focus even more on software and information technology"

"Know your stuff. Research the company and know whats going on."

"Sometimes I feel like I don't have enough line of site in the company."

"I don't think I would change much about how Jeff runs the company."

"I'm in a one year contract that is about to end shortly and thereby compensation and ability to move up is restricted due to the contract based kind of employment. I love working for GE but they are currently on a hiring freeze and budget limitations and thereby cannot keep me and 2 of my other contract co-workers."

"The CEO is not the plant manager. The facility lacks any desire to motivate you to greatness. They constantly find flaws with no concrete plan to help you improve. They also don't use facts when forming opinions, a big negative. If you aren't trained, then it's your fault. If you try to get innovative, you get squashed for not maintaining concensus. If HR and the plant manager were changed out, it would be a great place to work. Hourly folks are solid, but can pit managers against each."
