"Futuri Media is full of great people, but it's not necessarily the best place for an ambitious software developer. The company views itself as a "media company" rather than a "technology company," and doesn't place a high priority on development best practices. Rather than planning projects and resources ahead of time, management waits until projects are behind the somewhat arbitrary schedule, then brings in external contractors to speed up development. Senior management likes to micromanage developers, somewhat regularly overriding the plans of the project manager based on arbitrary decisions regarding feature priority. The company is very much an established business that likes to think of itself as a startup, which causes problems. As of March 2020, the company had zero policies in place for scheduled raises, whether merit or cost of living increases. This should be unacceptable for a company for more than ten years old. Add that to the lack of training and room for advancement, and Future doesn’t seem like a good fit for a developer looking for a long-term gig."
