"Teachers are treated like dirt and need second jobs to afford rent You are paid $25/hour for classes that parents pay $150+ for. You have no consistent schedule and no chance at 40 hours a week unless you are one of the select few admin likes. Most teachers have second jobs. Parents are promised a completely specialized education for their child by the administration, and teachers are given 10 paid minutes to put that together. Doing a good job at Fusion Academy requires tons of unpaid work. The school never listens to criticisms, the reviews from 10 years ago have been saying the same thing. Instead of improving Fusion's executives just count on burning through 75% of their teachers every 2-3 years and hiring new ones. They will buy lunch for a meeting and pretend it makes up for not paying a living wage. 95% of my coworkers are looking for another job."
"DO NOT WORK HERE They turned a salaried job into an hourly one. Pay is extremely low despite the insane cost families pay. Fusion Academy is a degree mill for the 1% that burns through its teachers and has to recruit a new staff every 2 years. You are paid hourly, but still have to do all the work that goes into teaching outside of class (grading, planning, etc.) you just don't get paid for it. And you don't even get a full hourly schedule, you sit there for hours unpaid between classes and wonder if you'll even have hours next week."
"I have worked for Fusion Academy for the last six months. There is a strong culture of support from fellow teachers and the administrative team. The administration team consistently checks in to offer support and seems to genuinely care about the well being of teachers. The downside is the especially low pay."
