The scenery is awesome, and I'm proud to say I'm a conductor until this time rolls around and the same person that you said you're lucky and got a lifetime job hears you say you just got canned! I like working with different people, and my terminal trainmaster is a really awesome guy. Have a few other officials I like as well but mostly all new in Erwin now."

"Learn to manage and learn that managing is not hoping everything goes right but actually making sure it does."

"The pay. The insurance. The retirement. The time off. Don't have to work with the public."

"The hours are horrendous. The company pays managers to fail workers. The job is more important than your life."

"Stop demanding employees take the call and allow lay offs without punishment. Teach and encourage employees rather than repremant constantly."

"The mobility of work schedule allow me to work at different locations throughout a work week rather than just one location all week"

"If you plan on being a conductor for the next 40 plus years, go to engineer school ASAP"

"I don't care for the company morale at the job, or for the instability in my work schedule as far as time"

"I would attempt a status that involved the employees more so and work out a medium between the powers that be and the current workforce to come to some common ground"

"You work off the Xtra board or you get forced assigned until you get enough seniority to hold a job.It can take months or more likely years."
