"If you're looking to get into research, start in research. If you're looking to get into sales, start in sales. It is VERY difficult to move horizontally despite what the recruiters tell you."
What don't you like about working at Forrester Research?
"It is nearly impossible to progress adequately through the company because there is no defined career track. Ambition and skill are not rewarded - there is a lot of hiring based on relationships rather than performance."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I would be a lot more transparent and look for insights from employees rather than just tell them the plan and make them execute on ridiculous goals."
