"I worked for Ford AV from July 2019 to April 2020 (when COVID hit)- while the learning curve is easy enough to follow and the equipment they install is fun to work with, if you don't like heavy manual labor (I'm not talking about the occasional installation, I'm talking a full eight hours of manual labor for your first few weeks or months), I don't recommend applying for an engineering job with them. The job is much more "construction" than "engineering." And if you finish your work before you fill eight whole hours, you may be asked to perform tasks that you are not suited for. Overall, a good fit for some, not for me."
"I worked for Ford AV from September 2019 to October 2019 and they provided a great overall experience. My relationship with my supervisor was respectful and of mutual understanding and my fellow coworkers were friendly and cooperative. The work was fun, flexible, and challenging, and I learned quite a bit on the job. Unfortunately I was injured on the job and had to resign due to work load requirements, but I greatly enjoyed my time at Ford AV."
"Ford AV is hands down one of the worst companies I have ever worked for. Oppressive, hostile and abnormal is how I would describe the company culture. The company is headed by a neurotic and overbearing control freak. A complete wack job who in my opinion, seems to spend her every waking moment nitpicking, harassing and nagging her employees to death for anything and everything, even if it’s trivial. Difficult to work for is an understatement. Fear, paranoia and intimidation rules, and respect and employee appreciation is non-existent. Being thrown under the bus is not uncommon. This company is a total bureaucracy filled with paperwork and red tape. Everything you do or need requires a form and those forms almost always need a rubber stamp or five for approval. Every tangible item or action has some code or number attached to it. Their processes are ineffective. And don’t get me started on the tens of cameras trained on you at any given time. My co-workers were awesome. They are great people who I have nothing but high praise and respect for. However, I think the owners are nothing more than scumbags in suits, the Division Manager is a school yard bully on a power trip and most of the Project Managers there are condescending jerks that are washed up and past their prime. During my tenure I was poorly treated, degraded, and threatened. The treatment I endured only scratches the surface of the company culture and how these people treat their employees. It’s no wonder their turnover rate is so high and morale is so low. Bottom line, if you’re looking to break into the AV industry, this place is for you. If you’re desperate for a paycheck and a horrible working environment or if you’ve failed in life, this place is for you. If you want to work for a company that’s progressive and forward thinking and values their employees, I would recommend you take your talents elsewhere."
