"Flowserve is a pump manufacturing organization with a few, IT personnel. None of most senior of the upper IT management have ever actually worked in IT development and all are transplants from other departments sent to IT as they obtained their "Director" title. This is not a good place for IT people to grow beyond the mid-level management role."

Pumps and allied products are primarily used in refineries and on oil drilling platforms. There are few competitors and the company has variety of products for one-stop shoppers. These products are quite huge and have heavy duty service requirements, requiring better quality assurance."
