Senior Case Manager
in Bronx, NY

"FEGS Burnside Residence heading down the drain."

What do you like about working at F·E·G·S?

"Helping truy needy clients with their probems and chronic illnesses. Seeing some go on to having their own apartments and becoming more independent. Most of all, knowing that what I did made a difference!!"

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Be wary of HR and if you ever are off sick unhder the ADA, cover your as* 100%++ Also join the Union promptly after beginning work!"

What don't you like about working at F·E·G·S?

"By 2004 (prior to my leaving) management was absolutely horrible! Way too much work was expected (paperwork) and I had very ittle time to actually woirk with the residents. Draconian practices were put into place and morale was at an all-time low. I just had to get out, and I did. Most of my colleagues were fantastic, but the Program Director, Murie Gibbs (at the time) was a bit*h on wheels. I was saddened by the negative changes I had seen over a 5-year period (1999-2004)."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Get invoved in the day-to-day routine of the residence and quit threatening staff and end the cuture of punishment that was rampant during mhy years with FEGS. Be realistic about staff capabiity, and stop laying off staff without replacing then, expecting whomever was left to take on the former employees duties and responsibilities."
