Working at Ezenia in Nashua, NH: 2 Employee Reviews

Software Intern

"It was a great company to work at, but the economy is hitting it as hard as everyone else."

Software Engineer

"Ezenia was a nice place to work. The teams were small and professional. The benefits were better than most large companies. It fell short on the training and professional development opportunities."

What do you like about working at Ezenia?

"The commute was extremely short. I was using cutting edge frameworks and tools. I was able to shape the admin client and take ownership for the feature."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"The people are great to work with. The product has a lot of potential and is very interesting work. They mostly hire people who are referred to them through a current employee."

What don't you like about working at Ezenia?

"Many times, the requirements weren't completely thought out, much less, written down. It seemed like we were rapidly developing to one potential customer. But, we didn't have any idea how many users would be on the system, what equipment they had, what database they used, what they would be using our product for. Once we met our deadline, the customer would vanish."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"They need to pick a direction and stick with it. The company has too few engineers to build a product that adequately competes with Lotus Sametime or Adobe. We would investigate one avenue for one customer who had the potential to buy a lot of licenses, but no commitment."
