"I worked at Exelis from 2008 to 2014. This was my first experience working for a government contractor. While Exelis in general has a great deal of experience with government contract work, the group I worked for was not particularly adept at doing software development for the government."

"I worked there for eight years. There are good and not-so-good points about the location. Good: Strong technical talent, and very sophisticated technology. Infrastructure is solid and has been kept up well. Not-so-good: Hollowing out of senior management. A few bright lights but increasingly dim bulbs are calling the shots. They talk the talk but don't walk the walk."

"Big business bogged down by lack of direction and adaptability. Good people who can't do what is needed due to redundant systems, multiple layers of oversight and overall burden of ITAR sanctions from a few years ago."

"I worked for Exelis (now Vectrus) for 2 yrs. I have found that they are pretty bad compared to other contracting companies hiring overseas. The salaries are low, the hiring practices are poor, and the management is awful. I was quite happy to leave and pursue a better opportunity with DCSI and SAIC."

"I worked 1 1/2 years for Exelis Mission Systems, now Vecturs. Overall it was a great experience both with co-workers and as a learning venture."

"I have been working as a temporary senior software developer. This Defense Industry company has a great working environment but is affected by government contracts coming and going."

"I worked for Exelis for about 6 months while in Kuwait. I felt under appreciated and under compensated. Management is not very effective."

"Pseudo Military Company - communication down the chain of command is lacking. There are more edicts which come out without really thinking through the whole process. GVT was a joke! I would suggest that leadership focus on the ideas coming from the bottom, and for the employee compensation to be reviewed. It gets harder and harder not to look for other jobs when the bonuses and the raises don't come often. Hard work is not rewarded."
