"The people and relationships I developed over the years. I stay in contact with many of them and will have friends for the rest of my life."

"Stagnant operational environment due to business decline. The infrastructure was slowly shrinking along with any opportunity for career growth."
What do you like about working at Excel Communications?
"I liked my boss, my team, the corporate culture, and my job. I was given deliverables and a deadline and was free to use whatever methods and technologies that were available. I also enjoyed leading a team of skilled professionals."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Excel has gone through takeovers and at least one bankruptcy. One year I had eleven bosses, with three in one week. I really have no idea what the company is like today."
What don't you like about working at Excel Communications?
"I left Excel over a dressing down by a person not in my department, over a decision I made that was the correct decision. In my anger I actually took a call from a company offering me a position with them. The salary increase was more than I could pass up. If that event had not occurred, I might still be working for them. I did in fact go back to work for them some years later when they were calling themselves Vartec Communications. They are back to the Excel name now."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"I was managed by great people. I feel that I was mentored and given opportunities for career growth. I really do not have any suggestions for my direct management."
