"I've worked for ERCOT for just short of 13 years. The company is quasi-government with oversight by the Public Utility Commission of Texas. Our budget is set annually and doesn't allow for much change with the progression of technology. The focus is primarily the advancements of the electric utility market and technology being secondary causing a constant worthiness battle. There is a lacking focus on ERCOT as a company, but they are definitely considered market leaders."
"ERCOT is a non-profit company that manages the electric grid to keep the lights on in Texas. They employ ~ 800 people. I feel fortunate to be able to make the transition from semiconductors to energy."

"Unfortunately, management does not run ERCOT it's run by PUCT, FERC, NERC. In fact, everyone except management."
