EAS Technologies Employee

"Has potential, but philosophical changes are needed"

What do you like about working at EAS Technologies?

"The company wasn't afraid to let younger people work in some very key positions. Also, we were very rarely required to work more than our scheduled 40 hour week, and we could make our own hours within reason. The work itself was interesting and challenging enough to keep us from getting bored with our job."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you are just starting in the industry, or really care about the things this company could do it if were successful, then this isn't a bad place to work. However, if you're looking for a place where you have a lot of input or are looking to move up in your career, you should look elsewhere."

What don't you like about working at EAS Technologies?

"There was a strong lack of communication between different departments. For a small company, we should have never had such a separation. I can recall countless occasions of fairly large problems that were caused by requirements being miscommunicated. Also, management did a fairly poor job at allowing the employees to contribute to the direction of the company. Too much emphasis was placed on recreating the same methods that didn't work and less was placed on creating a new way of doing business. This was an internet company that was being run internally as if it were a brick and mortar store. While I can appreciate the need for human contact in a service industry, more work could have been done if the technological side of the business had received more attention sooner."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"There should be more appreciation shown to your employees. Most every employee that has ever worked there would have done almost anything for the company at one point or another. The idea of the company is great and can go a long way in helping people, but it will never work if the employees don't enjoy working there. The decisions of the company shouldn't always be made by one person. A start up company such as this should be run more like a democracy than a dictatorship, especially when the person playing the dictator role has very little to do with the day to day business."
