Marketing Communications Manager

"Unfortunately for Dream Dinners, they have lost 50% of their franchises in the past couple years. They were at 79 employees and are now down to about 15 and they are in the middle of a big law suit which is sucking up revenue."

What do you like about working at Dream Dinners?

"The concept is relatively new, exciting and unique in the food industry. Working there offered opportunities to work on a wide variety of projects and tasks in a manner that most won't experience at a larger, more established company. The company founders are very family focused and supportive of balancing work and family life."

"You must have solid boundaries and an ability to not get drawn into dysfunction and drama."

What don't you like about working at Dream Dinners?

"Please keep in mind as you read this that I loved the work and the people. Because this was/is a relatively small corporate office, managers have to create, implement and manage their own projects. There is little in the way of check/balance, but accountability is high. HR doesn't exist. Leadership regularly stepped on budgets, vascilated on decisions or undermined the work of others by making decisions without consideration for initiatives in progress. There was a lack of follow-through on the part of the CEO."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Focus. Do your homework before embarking and mandating large initiatives and stop holding staff accountable for decisions outside of their control."

"The easiest thing to say is customer service"
