What do you like about working at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs?

"I like the benefits, such as leave and the location."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"I would tell them not to take a job at a lower pay grade then they think they should be at. Once you accept a certain pay grade it is extremely difficult to apply for other jobs within the government. There are time in grade requirements that are extremely frustrating. If you are have the education and experience for a higher position you are stuck if you don't meet the time in grade requirements."

What don't you like about working at U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs?

"I am given an unmanageable workload with a lack of training. The amount of work I am expected to do is unrealistic. I despise one of the people on my staffing team. Not everyone in the organization is working on a level playing field; some are favorites."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would be more involved and make sure that the team leads became supervisors. I would make the organization more efficient by organizing the work by function. I would provide more opportunities for career developement. I would distribute the work better. I would try and treat everyone one fair."
