What do you like about working at Delta Democrat Times?

"The Delta Democrat Times was a great learning experience. I was exposed to different cultures, genres of music and even government. Because I was a general assignment reporter, I covered many different beats so everyday was new and different. In addition, the editorial staff was encouraging. They let me use my creativity and cover almost any topic I wanted to."

"Be yourself. Be open to learn. Don't be afraid to try new things. Be open to an entirely different culture in the MississippI Delta; it's like no place else."

What don't you like about working at Delta Democrat Times?

"The pay could have been better. The newspaper was in the MississippI Delta, the poorest area of the poorest state in the country. So after work, there was not very much to do for recreation."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"I would suggest that they offer better pay."
