Delaware State University (also called DSU and Del State) is a public, historically black university located in Dover, Delaware. The university has two additional campuses located in Georgetown and Wilmington. DSU began in 1891, when it was called the State College for Colored Students. The college received accreditation in 1944 and became the Delaware State College in 1947. The institution finally changed its name to Delaware State University in 1993.
