"In my time working for DFAS I realized one has to be very detail oriented and focused solely on the job. There is no freedom of innovation as far as technology is concerned at the lower levels. You have to be able to work with what you have not with what you want. It is an important job to be sure as the Military and Retired pay goes through it. If your not good with minotiny and a great amount of paperwork to get anything done then don't apply here."
"I joined the military in May 2012 and am still currently employed DFAS. Overall, it is a very difficult job but it’s honestly what you make of it. You need to learn to put your best foot forward and make due with what you have. People don’t join the military for the money, they join for the pride and challenge."

"There is not nothing that I don't like. I enjoy the different schedules that I can work without getting management approval first. I enjoy the fact that we can work over and build time off. I enjoy my job just need to move away."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"At this time the government changes constently I do not have any suggestions because at times I do feel that we are going in the right direction."
