Assistant Superintendent
in San Diego, CA

"Cynical and angry due to character and career damage."

What do you like about working at Decton?

"The variety of work included commercial and residential. Agents would come to the job sites for input and to check site conditions, etc. (sometimes they brought donuts)."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Expect to be used and unappreciated."

What don't you like about working at Decton?

"The group of work coordinators ranged from total incompetent to cocky and aloof work pimps (self described). If you didn't call in, you got no work except what others couldn't handle. Management was virtually non existent. Once I got a referral to a contractor who needed start-up help experience. After one phone call interview, no further contact. The last job I worked was to replace several men who were released. After a couple of days the foreman and assistant assaulted me on the parking lot to run me off. No one from Decton supported me. The owner of the client company never responded to my complaints before or after the attack."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Exercising reasonable control and training new office agents should be a priority when working with others who rely on their expertise and efforts to acquire work and manage contracts (and for their income) is a given (if not minimal) expectation of the labor employee."
