De La Rue Employee

"I see a review was taken down. So here is the short version. I was hired in Monterey Park, California to maintain a CPS. The union Bank folks were fantastic and even provided references. JW was supposed to bring me up to speed on how the machine works and fixing it when a breakdown occurred. Jerry did not do very well when given this task. He just "did" while I "watched". No hands-on. No class training was received until about three months in. I get to the class in Dallas on Commerce Dr. The classes going well, but the teacher was full of 4-letter words and liked to make examples of students that he randomly picked for abusive verbal treatment. Just before the class ended, I found out I was one of the best in the class, but verbal abuse from the teacher lasted the whole two weeks. Then, on the last day of the class, after I get my great test results, I get called into HR office. Manager, HR, and the teacher decided to invent this story about an incident in the class. No statement from me, no opportunity to discuss, just shown the door. I was told over the phone that I was not working there anymore and they actually tried to cut off unemployment benefits. I also contacted the UK HR, who just ignored me after I told her about the incident that was falsely alleged. Luckily, I printed out a whole lot of emails and other documentation before my account was turned off. That information was given to a California Judge, who then told Melba and Brenda that they violated California employment law. The benefits were reinstated. Melba, shortly thereafter, was not working at De La Rue. Brenda is not either. This abusive atmosphere shows the true work culture and ethics at this company. This information must be made public. This event was so traumatic that I totally switched careers and left the "field tech" industry altogether because companies like De La Rue cannot be trusted to treat employees fairly. This review should stand as a warning for anyone looking"
