"I was the VP of Engineering at CyberDefender 2009-2012 and there were better and worse times there as the company had more or less money and focus, though since 2012 when the company went through a bankruptcy proceeding and was acquired by Guthy-Renker the company has essentially exited from the software development business and just resells software developed elsewhere. Engineering activities these days are entirely focused on integration, call center tools and tracking, etc. rather than developing unique technologies as they did when I was there."
