CRI Genetics Employee

"PROS: -Laid back, yet productive atmosphere -Free snacks and refreshments at the office -A game room to blow off steam occasionally -Health insurance premiums are fully paid by the company, so nothing comes out of your pay check CONS: -The culture is like a stereotypical frat house. The majority of the employees (including the owners) are a bunch of dudes in their 30s desperately clinging to a college bachelor lifestyle. Almost every company event involves heavy drinking. They encourage you to bring your kids to the events, then there's dudes playing beer pong around them or the event is on a boat that isn't even safe for small children. Plus the office is notoriously filthy. They hire a cleaning crew to come once per week, but there's only so much you can do to sterilize a frat house. -The culture is also a snake pit. There's nothing the owners love more than employees willing to eat each other to advance. And if you refuse to play the game, they don't trust you... Which makes no sense, but that's how they are. If you enjoy gaslighting, manipulating, scapegoating, stealing ideas, and (most importantly) brown-nosing, then you'll quickly find yourself on the executive team. -There's no long-term planning for anything. They have these big vague goals they want to accomplish (like "create a 10x company" or "revolutionize healthcare"), but nothing is ever actually planned. Your schedule for the week is whatever the owner's tunnel vision is focused on at that moment. It doesn't matter if there are more important issues that need to resolved or whether you even finished the project you were working on last week, everything needs to be dropped to satisfy whatever the owner's mind is focused on."
