"Crestron invests in people who fit in their box"

What do you like about working at Crestron Electronics?

"Ongoing constant challenge of remaining on the cutting edge with high quality performance products in the control and AV integration field. Constantly challenged to solve complex issues and problems and learning non-stop. This is one place that will rapidly accelerate a person's knowledge and skills. Crestron invests heavily in training and educating their own people to rise to the high expectations of knowledge and problem solving ability. Crestron support is constant, fast paced and highly demanding. It is a thrill to see how many problems that one can resolve in as little time as possible. Working at Crestron is the ultimate in mastery of AV integration."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Crestron interviews (at least when I worked there) were designed to weed out those who cannot handle adversity. Believe in yourself enough to not buckle under scrutiny and pressure. Stay focused and positive. Never allow their intense interview procedure to dampen your enthusiasm one bit. Stay in control, you are the one choosing Crestron and not the other way around."

What don't you like about working at Crestron Electronics?

"There are politics and discriminatory policies that inhibit the effectiveness of the organization. The attitude is more every person for themselves and less of a team atmosphere. Management (at least the ones that I reported to) does not listen to their subordinates, even when the subordinates may have insights that are far beyond that of the manager."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"1. Learn to embrace diversity as a strength instead of fearing it as a weakness. (Who can we learn more from, those like us Or those who are different) Being unique is not a liability nor it is unprofessional. 2. Learn to listen to suggestions from all sources including employees. (Crestron excels at listening to customers but completely fails to consider the ideas of those within the organization). The ideas that you discard may fuel your competitors success."
