Stop micromanaging. Use prior job performance of employees performing same or similar job duties as a gauge of production standards when assigning new job duties not previously part of a position. Stop using threats and intimidation to motivate employees, ie: talking about leaving a pink slip on employee's desk when they are on vacation, telling employees that they are not free to have conversations while at work, etc.
