"I have been with Commvault for 3 years now. In general it is a decent place to work. You are entrusted with different projects / technologies, which helps with your learning, albeit the deadlines / the culture don't make it easier. One of the biggest downsides is the process. It is very antiquated."

"Commvault develops the most innovative data protection software on the market, but can't seem to set even a short-term course for success in terms of both organizational and marketing strategy."

"Commvault is a hard company to rate. In some ways it has good talent and I'd like to say a good outlook for the future. But the management, specifically the engineering department, has issues. If you're a personal friend of your manager, you'll get ahead, get good raises, and generally be take seriously. If not, then you won't be respected, and will probably ultimately leave. At a product level, there just isn't enough discipline or rigor. It's a classic case of implementing features that just aren't ready for prime time, effectively making their customers their beta-testers. Corporate management is generally very good, except that my take is that they're afraid of a rebellion if they actually tried to implement the meaningful change they know is needed. This will hold them back from real advance in the future. I predict they'll see some incremental growth, but will ultimately hit a wall. Time will tell. I hope I'm wrong; there's lots of good people there."
