"The worst organization I can ever imagine. 20+ years here, almost no raises. No matching 401(k). No dental, no vision. No way to advance (you get capped out after a while). Don't believe the hype about state government jobs being so great. It's the worst for skilled technical people. Rough environment, with nontechnical appointees with no skills running the show. I'm really ready to go."
"Pros for working at the Commonwealth of Kentucky is a very stable place to work each day. People are friendly in the departments. Get togethers and pot luck lunches are scheduled often throughout the year. The Cons are that we have not be given a cost of living increase or raise except once, in many years."
"This job is amazing for people with children and a spouse. The pay is low, but you have the ability to earn a lot of vacation time. The schedule is also very flexible with 7.5 hour days."
