Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Employee

"I made a career for myself at CDPHE. Unfortunately it was not always easy. I found that management was not skilled and often unavailable. Many positions are filled by friends or family versus the required open competitive process required by HR processes. The department I worked in reorganized four times in ten years. It was very chaotic and we received very little communication from management. There are no raises given for job performance, only for cost of living when approved by the legislature. I am so happy to finally be eligible for early retirement."
