Research Consultant

"I worked as a research consultant for CEET for six months and had an odd experience, greatly influenced by the COVID crisis. The center is made with brilliant researchers, that unfortunately are not so welcoming if you are not a French national. I was the only non-french researcher and experienced some discrimination, especially for not fully dominate the language, even though I was hired to conduct a research in English. Additionally, the administration was not so well organized, so there were several minor issues, which built up overtime. My supervisor/ project manager and the only point of contact I had was emotional and would often yell and act unprofessional when she felt overwhelmed. The COVID crisis enhanced a negative behavior as we could not meet in person, so she asked for updated on work every five minutes during the entire work schedule, including weekends and evenings."
