Skillset: Having a passion for healthcare and research are required from anyone who wants to become a clinical research coordinator. Those working in this position need to have good report writing and communication skills, as accurate communications between various medical professionals are essential to conduct a successful clinical trial.
Education: Requirements vary from one employer to the next. At the bare minimum, having an associate's degree in nursing is required. Being licensed as a Registered Nurse or Physician's Assistant is preferred and holding a bachelor's degree or higher in a health related discipline will help make a candidate more competitive.
Career Path: Obtain a degree in a health related field. Acquire a few years of experience in a healthcare position, especially around clinical trials. Build some experience in a supervisory capacity in the healthcare field.
