What do you like about working at Drake Beam Morin?

"I enjoy the continual challenges that supporting individuals in career transition brings and the team approach and resources DBM provides to help people get their next position. It's wonderful because no two days are alike, because I can find and use resources within myself that I didn't know I had, and because I work with a great team and great clients. Although a people-oriented business and company, we provide outstanding technical resources to enhance the job seeker's experience and make staff's job easier."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"If you have experience in career consulting, management or executive coaching; currently have a flex position that provides you with a good income and allows you the opportunity to add another page to your portfolio career, you'll do well here. You'll want to emphasize that flexibility in terms of the hours you work. You want to talk about how you can follow a consulting model that encourages those in career transition to wean themselves away from total dependence on a counselor and become independent and self-sufficient in their job search by utilizing all the resources at their disposal."

What don't you like about working at Drake Beam Morin?

"The cyclical nature of this business is taxing; trying to plan for adequate staffing to meet demands for services during busy times and then cutting back when it gets slack is difficult to cope with.Although we have frequent meetings and constant training the majority of it is done via computer and teleconferencing. Under those circumstances it's often difficult to take everything in, ask questions or for clarification and provide open and honest feedback in virtual class/conference rooms. Achieving synergy and enthusiasm become problematic."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Lead from behind and let all the big dogs pulling your sled blaze the trail! You've got a great management team that keeps everything sharp and in good working order. Without you, the sled would have fallen into disrepair a long time ago. Now give us more lead and a bigger lever and we'll move the world for you!"
