What do you like about working at City of Atlanta?

"Staffing the afterschool programs and working with the kids, as they appreciate my presence and extra effort put into helping them out. Occasionally the schedule can be flexible, but that is only if you are on your manager's good side."

Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?

"Unless it is something you truly want to do, stay away from Recreation. Other department may be better. Maybe."

What don't you like about working at City of Atlanta?

"I work with a department full of incompetent people. Managers are not qualified for their positions. There are absolutely NO OPPORTUNITIES for advancement. Employees are not recognized for extra time and effort put into jobs. To say many are idiots would be kind."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Terminate a significant number of useless staff. Reorganize and redistribute staff to different facilities. Hire newer, younger employees to staff programs."

"Experiences with customer service and dealing with difficult personalities, from both employees and customers."

"Think carefully when applying for positions, there are more instances of inefficiency and personal problems than business-related circumstances. Decisions are based off of personal relationships rather than sound business practices and models"

What don't you like about working at City of Atlanta?

"Nepotism. Decisions are based on emotions and personal animosity between administrators. Logical ideas and solutions are not heard, exact opposite actions are employed."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Stop making emotional decisions. Resolve the nepotism problems. Recognize employees that positively contribute to the business model."
