"There were some good, quality people there back in the day."
Do you have any tips for others interviewing with this company?
"Don't bother even attempting to work here. If you want to work for a SaaS company, try Intermedia for email or Saavis or Terramark for IaaS. Centerbeam will not be in business much longer."
What don't you like about working at CenterBeam?
"There was no demand for the solution they offered in the market. Too many Sr managers, not enough people to deliver and architect the service. Sales was unable to sell the solution because it sadly wasn't compelling. This left many employees without any meaningful work to do."
What suggestions do you have for management?
"Pick one or two core services to deliver, like email or IaaS services with VMware and deliver those with a high degree of quality and reliability. Trim management folks back by 80% or more and add talent technical staff again. Stop trying to be all things to all companies. Properly invest to deliver quality that is a cut above what anyone could do with a few servers and some cheap storage in a garage somewhere. This will create a real barrier to entry."
