"I have worked for this company for a little over a year and have grown immensely, both personally and professionally. While they don't pay as much as other companies, they do provide extensive training, support, and credentialing. I have a very supportive supervisor and the culture in our office is supportive and positive. Overall, it is a great company to work for."

Working at Center for Autism and Related Disorders in Vancouver, WA: 1 Employee Reviews

Center for Autism and Related Disorders Employee

"I worked for CARD for a little over a year. Our business was acquired by them. They sold our founder of the previous business a line of BS before she sold the business to them. They told the upper management team, "We want to learn from you". Because they bought us when our business was doing exceptionally well and we had a great reputation in the area for implementing ABA services for families with children with Autism. CARD is a shame based culture that treats their employees like work mules. CARD has horrible relationships with the insurance companies in our region. Before I left I felt like their business was unethical. They would hire line therapists at such a low rate that we rarely employed line therapists that were skilled. Instead we had people working as therapists that caused more damage than good. I had no voice, I would express my concerns and they would fall on deaf ears. This company is more interested in growing to 200 centers by the end of next year, but can't keep high quality in one of them. Before we were bought by CARD we had a ton of Kaiser clients. CARD ruined their relationship with Kaiser and they will no longer refer to CARD in my region. As a BCBA I would say to stay away from this company, they are not ethical. They do not individualize treatment for families. The office I worked for was Center based services and every client was expected to receive services at the center, even if it wasn't the plan that was best for the kid. ABA 101 is individualization for each client. But that is more expensive. And yes, the upper management is more interested in their celebrity status than each individual client. I felt like a number and I felt like my clients were a number, and this is not what practicing ABA is about. And if you don't fit in CARD's box, it's just a matter of time until you are squeezed out as a family or pushed out as an employee. Or, like me, leave because it made me sick to work in an unethical shame based environment."
