"Flexible and thoughtful, lots of uncertainty"
"Tons of resources to learn new technologies. Work-life balance comes in cycles depending on where you are in a release cycle. The benefits were satisfactory. Grateful for professional and personal support over the years. Flexible work schedule, young working culture, great training program, teams around you aimed to help you succeed"
"Cengage is an innovative Ed Tech company focused on providing affordable learning solutions. I was very proud to involved in the roll-out and promotion of Cengage Unlimited and was always encouraged by the way Cengage's leadership looked to challenge the status quo of textbook publishing."
"Great culture and awesome co-workers!"
"I worked for Cengage Learning in Boston though it is a large organization the staff and leadership maintained a very open and friendly environment that supports collaboration and encouraged new ideas."
"I have worked at Cengage for over a year. My team and supervisor's have been great. Great benefits. Travel time. Focused on supporting the customer. Not micromanaged."
"My time at Cengage served its purpose. I was able to continue my career as an SQA Engineer"
"This company is imploding. Management has been a disaster for at least the last three years. They've made bad hire after bad hire for leadership, and as a result, the work has suffered. Morale is close to 0. The online education industry is tough enough, but the parent company Cengage has made the situation far worse by neglecting this division of their company since acquiring it, ignoring it for 15 years later, and then trying to pump it into a superpower. The expectations are out of touch with reality, and the rolling effect of bad decision after bad decision will spell this company's doom soon enough."
"This is a multi-million, if not billion dollar company. I use one tool every day to do my job - a laptop. My work laptop ceased functioning in the way it should and it took months to be told there's no money in the budget for a new computer. When I asked how we could afford to fly remote workers to Boston for 2 hours of community service and a catered lunch, I was given explicit directions as to who to talk to and what to say. I will have a new laptop within a month. That's all I need to say. The bureaucracy and Old Guard ways are killing this place."
"I worked here until 2013. The company has since filed for bankruptcy. The management was poor at best. Difficult place to work as they micro-manage. The training was not very thorough, but you wouldn't realize it until you started taking calls. In this role the management expects you to be glued to your desk. If you get up from your desk, you are watched like a hawk (micro-managed). Going to the restroom is frowned upon (no exaggeration)."
