"Catalina opened a growth opportunity for me in the import area because 95% of their product were direct imports."

What don't you like about working at Catalina Lighting?

"I was a very closed culture the first year. Most people had been with the company for years and I was the first 'outsider' to come in. I had 3 CEO's, 4 National Account Managers and 2 account coordinators during the time I worked there. So the internal structure was a little rocky. But, to their credit, we also had 3 different WM buyers and 4 replenishment managers (WM) during that time frame as well, so it was a bit of a challenge for all of us."

What suggestions do you have for management?

"Understand that Wal-Mart is synonymous with change. Be open to it and responsive, receptive and transitions will go much smoother."
